  • Kristin continuously works to hone her research skills as a professional genealogist through numerous webinars and lectures, too numerous to list, as they become available. 

Kristin Harms is the owner and principal genealogist of Relative Proof, LLC. Born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Kristin grew up moving around the East Coast of the United States. She has colonial roots in Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts and immigrant ancestors from Germany, Switzerland, England, Scotland, and Ireland. Kristin currently lives just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, convenient to the Georgia Archives and the National Archives at Atlanta, NARA’s Southeastern Division. She earned her B.A. in East Asian Studies and Economics from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and spent a semester abroad immersed in Chinese Studies at Nanjing University in Nanjing, China.  She has been passionately chasing and analyzing the evidence of her ancestors’ lives for over 15 years.


Kristin and her husband have two teenaged children and several dogs. For the past ten years Kristin has delivered the same Meals on Wheels route and is currently an active member of National Charity League, Inc., Milton Chapter.
